Exile Racing
Rule Book V2.3
1.Driver Eligibility Any driver who wishes
to race with us must sign up to ExileRacing.net using the same name as in his
Arca08 player file. He must also sign up for the desired series via the league
sign up sheet in the forum. All drivers must also read and abide by the rule
book. Only clean drivers who race with respect for their fellow racers are
allowed.
2. Points ALL
Exile Racing League events will use the ASC points system. In the
event of a tie at the end of the season, the driver with the most wins will
become champion. If both drivers have the same amount of wins, then we will go
to 2nd place finishes, and so on until the tie is broken.

3. Race Administration
Exile Racing has 8 administrators/officials to help with this task so we
will have 2 guys volunteer to officiate the series, one primary and one
backup, dividing them up ever how they see fit. These guys will make sure
someone is sitting out watching each race to make judjment calls. This is a tuff
job so if you cause an accident call it out so the official knows what cars to
review. Also if an admin/official wrecks out early he must stick around to help
in the officials job.
4. Car
Number Selection Drivers may request a car number that is not already
taken by a current member of the Exile Racing Leagues Driver's Roster, or a
Exile Racing League Admin. Once a car number is assigned, you MAY NOT ask for
another car number until the following season. All car numbers will be unique to
the registered driver and no car number may be duplicated between different
league divisions.
5. Car
files Instead of
having complete league cars that have their own folders in the game we use dds
files(skins) only and drop them in the default cars folders that are already a
part of the game. So here is what you do, lets say for example your number is 16
and you drive a Toyota. You would need to look in the game and see what default
car you would want your skin to go in, people who dont have your skin downloaded
like people in open servers will see that car. In the case of the number 16
camry you would notice there is no 16 so find a car and number you want, lets
say we are going to put our #16 Camry skin in the number #14 Carmy default car.
You would create a folder named 14Skins and put your dds file for your car skin
in it, also inside that 14Skins folder create a folder and name it MISC and put
your rims, suite, and helmet inside it. Once done just zip that up and send it
to Stroker@exileracing.net , make
sure when you send it to him you tell him your driver name, your number and the
default car you wish your skins to be added to. We have a 3 skin limit, also
there will be no updates during the series schedule. Prefered method of naming
the files is example: Stroker_S1, Stroker_S2, and Stroker_S3. This allows you to
change your skins from season to season without creating many files and leave
unused skins in everyones game, each season name your skins the same thing so
they will overwrite your old skins with each update.
6. Attendance You CAN NOT have a
substitute driver.
7. Provisional Points
Provisional points will be given to any driver that request them before
the drivers meeting for said race. Provisional points will be last place for
that event meaning, if last place is 15th and that driver earns 120 points a
provisional for that race would earn 115 points. If 3 drivers request
provisional finishes for that race they each earn 115 points.
8. Race Postponement:
In the event a race must be postponed due to equipment failure, bad weather,
etc…, all racers will be notified before the race (if possible) and a make up
date will be scheduled by the league administrator. Server drop out or extensive
lag will be considered as rain and treated the same as in the Arca series. If it
happens short of the half way point of the race it will be rescheduled and ran
at a later date. If it happens after the half way point of the race it will
finish there.
9. Race
Password All race servers will be locked with a password on league
night that each driver can view via the web site race information link prior to
the race. The race password will change on a weekly basis but will be listed
there from the beginning of the season.. If a driver is found to be sharing
Exile Racing server information with non-league members, that member will be
terminated from the league.
10. 2
Spin Rule You will be ask to park for the rest of the race by the
Admin of the race if you cause 2 accidents or 1 accident and 1 self spin or 2
self spins either under green or under yellow which causes the caution to be
bought out or extended during the race. To go along with this we are
implementing "The Spinner Spinnie Rule" - If a driver gets into someone else
causing an accident he must call it and recieve an end of longest line penalty
from the official. If no one calls it both cars go to the rear. In addition to
this, any driver that breaks this rule 2 weeks in a row will be ask to serve a 1
race suspension the following week.
Self spins that do not bring out a
caution or extend the caution flag will not count.
The League Admin has final judgement
on any and all incidents and those decisions are final.
11. Pitting
Rule Its real important that we stay in the pitbox because it can
really screw the guys around you. When a driver pits he needs to be sure he has
at least 3 tires in pit box during pit stop. This infraction comes with a EOLL
penalty. No Warnings, if your pit out of box you go to the rear on the
restart.
12. Chatting The rules governing chat will depend on
what session the race is in. Practice of course is open chat. APSOLUTLY
NO chatting at all during qualifying. Complete quiet untill session
changes. During the race try to keep all green flag cumminications to race
related subjects only...as in ...Pass High...Pitting this lap...ect. When
caution comes out the only chat that should happen is the people involved
calling their involvment and the admins. Chat during this time is very
distracting to the admins making the decisions on the accident and disruptive to
the smooth flow of the race. Once the admins finish the decision on the
caution and calls it in public open chat may resume.
13.Rookie System at Exile Racing
Any driver racing his first series at Exile Racing will be eligable
for the series rookie award. Any driver joing at a series end can only run 3 races and still
be eligable for the award the next series. This will be determined by putting a
(r) by that persons name in the points system. There are no special points
criteria for the rookies. Everyone competes within the same points system and
the rookie on top at the end wins it. Rookie stripes are NOT required as we know
just because its your first season with us doesnt mean its your first season of
racing. We do ask if you are a new driver to sim racing or to the Arca08 sim
that you do put rookie stripes on the rear for the benifit of your fellow
driver.
14. Lucky
Dog The lucky dog will be handeled by the game. This
works best and takes the responsibility off the race official.
15. Green/White/Checkerd
We will only have one
attempt at a green white checkered so restart with care and race with respect if
you want a good green finish. If the cautions comes out after we have made one
attempt at a green white checkered then any driver will have the option to pit
if he needs to but when the green flag flies the leader is to maintain pace
speed for the remaining 2 laps. If any driver tries to gain a position or cause an accident
during this time they will get a last place finish for the race.
16. Black Flag Rule Only
at tracks that have been tested and found to have black flag bugs will an
official review and consider re leaving the black flag. These tracks
will be posted in the race information with a special note located under the
password. If you receive a black flag during one of these race that you suspect
to be "bogus" just call out in the open race channel "BLACK FLAG #__" and the
race official will review and decide whether or not the black flag was
warranted. If he does not relieve it DO NOT protest. He will confirm that he
reviewed it and his decision. All Race Official Decisions are final ! If you
receive a black flag that you feel is "bogus" at a track that has NOT been
marked as black flag bug track, serve it. Consider it a mechanical failure and
deal with it. That's Racing.
17.
Restarts *ALL* cars must obey the pace speed set by the pace car and
are not allowed to accelerate or decelerate before the green flag flies. All
cars must maintain a distance of no more than 1 car length GAP to the car in
front of them. There is NO PASSING until after you come out and turn 2 heading
down the backstretch. There are no high line passes on the right unless the
field slows in front of you or the driver in front of you is allowing you to
pass due to mechanical difficulties. If someone passes you before this
point please alert the race official so he can review and hand out a
penalty.
18. Re starting a
Race During any race event, the practice, qualifying round and
Warm-Up Session will never be restarted. Unless a problem occurs out of the race
official control, where they would have to restart the server.
The Race
Session will only be restarted ONCE at the race official's discression to ensure
the entire field is on the track and ready to race. The Race Session will
NOT be restarted for cars that do not start or strip a gear before the green
flag drops. Once the green flag drops, the race will NOT be restarted.
Drivers who "fall through" (or lose their connection to the race server)
right before the race session starts, will not have the server restarted for
them.
19. Lapped Traffic
Because some of the races are fairly long, some members may be lapped by the
leaders. When the leader catches a driver who is still on the lead lap, but
is in jeopardy of going 1 lap down, that driver is allowed to race the leader in
a safe manner to stay on the lead lap, unless the lapped car is damaged and is
considerably slower than the leader.
When the leader catches a driver
who is already 1 or more laps down, the lapped car is required to move to the
low side of the track and yield the high line to ALL cars on the lead lap.
Lapped cars may also go to the low side on straightaways, or use the apron to
give room to the lead lap cars.
Drivers one or more laps down must not
block the lead lap cars. It is up to the passing car to make a clean safe pass.
If a lapped car does block a lead lap car, then the lapped car will receive a
black flag from the Admin.
In the event the lapped car cannot move for
the leader due to traffic, the lapped member will be required to move to the
high side as soon as safely possible.
A Lapped car does not have to move
for lead lap cars, if the lap car is racing for position. Lead lap cars must not
"make a hole" simply because they are faster. Lead lap cars are required to wait
for the lapped cars to finish battling for their position. Once the lapped cars
are lined up, then they are required to move to the low side for all lead lap
cars.
20.
Flaming Flaming is absolutely not tolerated. A member who is flaming
will be ejected at the race official's descresion. Period. Flaming is
defined as any racial slur, insult, abuse, swearing at or harassment of another
driver or Admin. This also applies to “WTF”, “WTH”, and even “TY” when used in a
negative way.
21. Unsportsmanlike
conduct: You are all here because you enjoy racing and the
competition. While there is rubbing, banging, and accidents in auto racing, it
is usually by accident or poor split second decisions made by the driver.
At no time is it acceptable for a driver to hit or take out another
driver purposely, for any reason. If anyone thinks that that is just part of
racing, you are in the wrong place.
As in any sanctioned series, we will
not tolerate any unsportsmanlike conduct while in the car. If you are seen
hitting or taking someone out and we (the track official) feel it was purposely
done, any of the following penalties can and will be implemented.
You will be brought into the pits for a 1 to 5 lap penalty. The
penalty will be decided by the track official, depending on their interpretation
of the incident.
You will be dismissed from the race. The track
official has the option of parking a driver from the rest of the race if they
feel the incident was severe enough.
A second incident during the
same race by the same driver will result in an automatic dismissal from the rest
of the race. If you are dismissed for the rest of the race, you will be awarded
no points for that race. In severe situations, you can also be banned from the
league if necessary. At no time will arguing, swearing, fighting, etc; be
tolerated towards another driver or the officials in regards to penalties or
decisions that were made during or after a race. If this occurs, one or more of
the following may be imposed.
Automatic deductions of 50 points from
the league point standings.
Suspension from the next race with no
points awarded.
If the behavior continues, possible disqualification
from the rest of the season with no refund of league dues.
22. Warping We all understand that warping
is a part of online racing and that a driver, who is warping badly, really can't
do anything to prevent the warp from happening. However, the admins are
tasked with providing the entire league with a relatively hazard free racing
environment. Therefore, the following procedures will be followed when dealing
with warp issues.
During the Practice Session: If other members
and/or the race Admin notice a car that is warping excessively, that member may
be ask to skip the qualifying round and start in the back of the field, in order
to ensure a clean start.
During the Race Session:
If other
members and/or the race Admin notice a car that is warping excessively, the
following situations will apply:
A.) If it is during a caution period,
the member of the warping car may be ask to pass through the pits when the field
is given the "1 lap to go" signal. B.) If it is during green flag racing,
the member of the warping car may be ask to reduce speed and proceed as safely
as possible to the apron of the track, maintaining a safe speed along the apron
until that car regains a stable connection. C.) In extreme circumstances,
the member of the warping car may be ask to park his/her car and sit out the
rest of the race. This would only be done if the problem persists and after all
other options are exhausted.
